The Kenny Music Performance Anxiety Inventory–Revised (K-MPAI-R): Validation of the French version

This study aimed at validating the psychometric properties of French version 40-item revised Kenny Music Performance Anxiety Inventory (K-MPAI-R). The certified was used and answered by 211 student musicians (aged 16–65 years, SD = 9.58) from different music schools colleges in French-speaking part Switzerland. K-MPAI-R is based on Barlow’s model anxiety designed to measure performance musicians. Through descriptive statistics confirmatory factor analysis, correlation matrix Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin (KMO) sampling adequacy Bartlett’s test sphericity were performed. analysis showed evidence validity (Cronbach’s α, Factor G .91) with internal reliabilities going α .78 .86. Nine items present low loading (<.30).
